"Total Satisfaction Policy"

You may return your new system up to 30 days from the date of invoice.1 Any refurbished systems can be returned up to 14 days from the date of invoice.
You are responsible for shipping the system back to Dell and for the costs associated with that shipment.
It is important that you return everything on your order, and that it is in its original packaging.
We will credit your account for the price of the system minus shipping and handling.
For more information on:
The details of Dell's Total Satisfaction Policy, please click here.
Returning software and peripherals, please click here.
Returning refurbished systems purchased through the Dell Factory Outlet, click here.

I'm thinking about buying a Dell laptop, but I'm afraid that coupons/rebates/special deals might creep up and make me regret my purchase. Has anyone ever done this? Do they give you a hassle? Can you just say that a better deal came up, so I'm going to return my laptop and buy a new one?

I think of the price drops within 30 days they'll adjust it, too. My advice about DELL: contact them through email support rather than phone, as they consistently LIE about your previous calls. For example, I called immediately to report problems and then another 3 times within the first month and they gave me the runaround. By the time I actually got through to someone who could "help me" they claimed I had waited too long for first contact. Don't trust them. Either get email proof of correspondence or fax/mail them a follow-up every time you call. You will probably still get stuck with shipping, if any.

Alright kiddies, heres how the Dell TSP works.

You buy a machine, you like it. New promo comes up. You call customer service. They SHOULD give you the new promo if you are w/in 30 days. If they dont, casually remind them that you can return the whole setup to them and they can take a beating on reselling it as a refurb.

You buy a machine and you hate it, their tech support sucks and you've been treated better from UPS. You pay $40 to ship it back and they give you a credit on you CC w/in 30 days.

Any more questions PM me.

Thanks dad.

BTW, out of all sellers, I would think Dell would be the best if you needed to do any returns. They are not only the manufacturer, they're also are the sales people and support team.

DAD? WTF? How old are you?

BTW, everyone can check my other Dell thread for advice in dealing with them.

ElFenix (works in their S&P) said once that "Half their reps cant tell their head from a hole in the ground"

Its true. Trust me on this one.

that could be a serious psychological problem, not to mention a work hazard.
