Has anyone ever had professional photos taken of/with their pets?

i.e. As part of a family portrait?

I'm afraid I'm becoming one of "those" people.

The fact you're even considering it means you've crossed over.

QFT.

Then again, I'm one of "those" people who doesn't understand paying thousands of dollars in vet bills, either.

Wow, impressive! Was it for a special story? Do you have a scan?

My dog would never make any sort of cover, but he will have a cherished place among the family pictures and portraits above the fireplace/decorating the workplace/etc. :)

No, we haven't even had professional photos of the family.

When I was a child, I remember our family used to go to Sears or Target for portraits. I'm not sure if they allow animals in those, though.

Never a family picture with a pet because we really only get the family pictures like, every 6 or 7 years or something.

We have had professional photography of our pets... the local Motophoto (mall photography store, if it isn't nationwide) has an annual fundraiser for ASPCA in which they will take any (tame) pet's photo. The proofs are free, but the prints cost money (all profits are donated to the ASPCA) and they have a contest for best looking pets.

My female dalmation has cleaned house in the past couple of years. ;)

I worked at a photo studio, and we took pictures of pets about 5-10% of the time

She's beautiful.

These are the only pro photos we have of Boba so far. I plan on having several of the images framed. :)

The fire department near my parents has a pet photo day every year to raise money and my mom has gone a few times.

You should be afraid. That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

Edit-I have pets and have pictures of them but I'd never bother taking them somewhere and paying someone to take pictures of them.

Pets are not children. Not even close.

Well, my wife is a semi-professional photographer with studio lights and all that, but the cats don't like to sit still.
