welcome to the AT forums.
I think that WCing is foolishness myself, but...
Sure they have. Using automotive type hose clamps (stainless steel screw type) can eliminate a lot of potential leaks. The coolants offered for the purpose are non-conductive and put it in with distilled water which is also non-conductive and you should have no problems even if there is a leak.

It doesn't evaporate right away takes a bit of time. Not unless there is a vapochill WC setup???

I've had a leak for about a year now🙂 I used some Stop Leak or some such...just a drop or two and it seems to have stopped leaking.
The first time it leaked I was afraid it'd catch fire and blow up...but after many attempts at stopping it and failure. I was so pissed I was like "screw it, I'm done". I've never had a problem other than that.
I water cooled the cpu (FX-55 paid $955), gpu (x850 xt paid $550), 2x hds (74gb raptors $200 each)...after 2 years they still work fine🙂
I've since upgraded the cpu simple swap out and gpu, which i had to buy a new block for (8800).
