Has anyone ever had a leak with a watercooled setup ?

welcome to the AT forums.

I think that WCing is foolishness myself, but...

Sure they have. Using automotive type hose clamps (stainless steel screw type) can eliminate a lot of potential leaks. The coolants offered for the purpose are non-conductive and put it in with distilled water which is also non-conductive and you should have no problems even if there is a leak.

HAHAHAHAHAHA... ive forgotten how many times i leaked.....
Its mostly because i rush though install, and not do it patiently.

Just use Distilled water. Its non conductive, and never use drinking or tap water. No need to buy bling bling aftermarket coolants, unless you find a color that you really must have.

Read my sticky, the link is in my sig.

Sorry Zepper...
..I 100% disagree with this..WCing is more time consuming, expensive and less easy to make changes..but foolish NO(if you going to say that..then a computer as a hobby is foolish)

But it is addictive and fun...I get a quieter setup and better temps

I am not handy at all..I did alot of reading and did my build slowly and used metal clamps..I leaked test always for 24 hrs

It doesn't evaporate right away takes a bit of time. Not unless there is a vapochill WC setup???

rofl... when someone says vapo, they usually mean phase tyler.

That uses gas, to cool a cooling chamber. Something way leet. 😛 well depends on how many stages the vapo has.

So when he said it leaked, the only thing it CAN leak is freon GAS. So i was asking how it leaked???

I've had a leak for about a year now🙂 I used some Stop Leak or some such...just a drop or two and it seems to have stopped leaking.

The first time it leaked I was afraid it'd catch fire and blow up...but after many attempts at stopping it and failure. I was so pissed I was like "screw it, I'm done". I've never had a problem other than that.

I water cooled the cpu (FX-55 paid $955), gpu (x850 xt paid $550), 2x hds (74gb raptors $200 each)...after 2 years they still work fine🙂

I've since upgraded the cpu simple swap out and gpu, which i had to buy a new block for (8800).

once again you confirmed a fact many thinks as being a myth!

😀

If you use the proper coolant, your comp doesnt die or fry, or end up a horrible pile of ashes in the corner. Thats all you need to get over. 😛

My system has been running 24/7 for more than a year.....exept for 3 days when I upgraded CPU, MB and changed fluid.......
My system also is stressed quite regularly.

No leaaks....
