has anyone ever gotten shammed like i did this morning?

right after i woke up this morning i bought 7th guest and 11th hour from dotemu when they were on steam for $12.50 less.

im incredibly dissatisfied with my purchase from dotemu because of the above and because

1. at least the 7th guest (havent tried 11th hour) froze my mouse cursor so i had to use the keyboard to log out.
2. it has ogg files that are unacceptable when flac exists and when the original release used CDDA.
3. i swear it doesnt look as good as it did on the old Dell 486 my parents used to have.

anyway... what did i miss by not getting the steam version?

I think your ogg vs flac is a battle that has been raging since forever. Ogg is just a container format, just like mkv is for video.

Ogg can hold FLAC if it likes because it's just a container.

This is probably a nostalgia bias. If you actually saw it again then it'd likely look very different to how you remember it.

Question. Did the site you bought it from send someone over to your house to distract you from doing the #1 thing anyone does in the world when shopping - take 10 seconds and use Google?

Maybe they had the NSA meta-data your connection thereby decreasing your chance of finding the best deal?
