Has anyone ever flown Spirit Airlines?

I wanted to go to vegas this weekend and spirit airlines seems to have the cheapest rates from Atlantic City to Las Vegas but i've never flown with them before and their price just seems to good to be true, therefor just wanted a few feedbacks from people who have.. TY..

they fly mostly turbo props.. bring your own food.. food sucks..

its a decent new startup airline.

I flew Spirit from LAX to LGA (Los Angeles to La Guardia, NYC)... round trip, last year. They were okay, and I'm still alive, but their planes are kinda old and ratty. Think of them as Southwest on an even tighter budget....

yeah. There were actually some other threads a while ago about Spirit Air. I also went LAX to LGA with them. They are REALLY no frills flying. Their boarding pass was this sqaure 2"x2" red piece of construction paper stapled to my receipt. But it got me where I needed to go so no complaints here.

Yup. Bare bones, but it'll get you from point A to point B.

my mom sister and grandmother flew them because the $$ they saved compared to Southwest let them rent a car for the week. They said it sucked and would never fly them again. They were 2 hours late leaving los angeles for some reason. They had a stop in Chicago and were stuck there for 2 hours before finally getting on to Ft. Lauderdale.

Then on the way back, they had to emergency land in Orlando because of a faulty O-ring that was leaking gasoline :Q (challenger anyone?) The rest of their return flight was uneventful.

In LAX they don't even have their own terminal, they rent one from Delta I think, and stick a janky posterboard sign over the counter, but you can see the rest is delta.
