Has anyone ever actually NOT been denied for a rebate from RebatesHQ.com? Anyone have their #?

Just got denied for my 6th one from them. Freaking FUCKTARDS! Anyone have their phone number?

I swear to god, this is like the worst week EVER.

Just for the heck of it I went and checked on rebateshq.com. I've received 18 rebates from them over the past 2 years, have never had a rejection.

I just checked and I have one being fulfilled right now. (It is from June of 2002, and I had no idea that I had one coming...)

No rejections - I follow the instructions to the letter.
Some get lost, fax of paperwork gets the ball rolling again though.:Q
Large delays in turn around though. 2-3 months - 4-6 months.🙁

Arrrg, but I have two that were from December for ATI video cards at CompUSA, and neither of those show up on their website..............

I always get the same thing, saying that i mailed it too late. But i NEVER have, i always mail it as soon as i get home.

Thats nice, im calling a phone number i found over at FW, when it transfers me to the next rep it hangs up on me.

Hell hath not seen the fury i shall unleash on their poor employee when i finally get through.

They'll just hang up on you...

I just don't buy anything from CrapUSA, tired of fighting for the rebates, & I send all of mine with delivery confirmation🙁

HAhahahahahahah!

I just COMPLETELY BITCHED THAT GUY OUT! 🙂

What can i say, my rebate will be in the mail in 4-6 weeks 😀

I don't think rebateshq.com is the company that does CompUSA rebates. That is the place in New Rochelle. I don't buy anything with rebates from that place either. I have gotten all my rebates from them but it takes too long and requires too much extra work.

Good luck aphex, I know how aggravating dealing with rebates can be.

One time I inadvertently applied for two rebates when only one offer was allowed. Those &*%@# honored the $5.00 rebate and denied the $20.00 rebate. Grrrrrrrr.

they're listed on the Maxtor 200GB $100 rebate form. Glad I decided not to do that (with tax on $300 it's close to the mwave / newegg no-redbate-needed price).

That's because that $100 rebate is from Maxtor, not CompUSA.
But weren't you responding to this statement?

And the 200 GB rebate is from Maxtor but it's a CompUSA-specifc rebate (the PDF on CompUSA's site).

So we're both right I guess 🙂

I was denied a rebate on a RAM module, stating it is a duplicate submission, but I'm still disputing it. I have the original Office Max flyer, scanned copies of all my UPCs, and the rebate submission forms, and the only language appearing which might restrict the number of submissions is "Limit One Rebate Each Item Per Address/Household". I bought one 128MB SDRAM module and one 256MB SDRAM module, two different UPC's, two different SKU's, so it should be valid as long as I don't submit 2 x 128 or 2 x 256 modules.

I have submitted 4 rebates, got one so far, the oldest one now is from January. At least they are all accepted

Interesting. I happened by a relative's desk today, and saw a rebate postcard from RebatesHQ, denying a CDR rebate. The person in question it was addressed to, is fairly religious about sending in rebates, so I sincerely doubt it was their fault in any way.

They were also denied a rebate on a Yamaha CDR, saying that the UPC wasn't included. I know for a fact that it was included, but they weren't all stapled together. I don't recall which outfit that particular rebate was addressed to.

I personally believe that these rebate companies actually have a strategic automatic-denial routine, above and beyond strict scrutinization of the materials sent in. They probably also use the cheapest possible labor to actually check the rebate materials. This probably means less-than-literate and less-intelligent employees (hence cheaper). Or maybe they actually recieve, and re-ship, in bulk, rebate request submissions to "processing" workers overseas (India?). It's not inconcievable, lots of tech-support lines for major US companies already do that.

Someone should start a web-site, containing documented proof of properly-submitted materials, along with either the rejection or acceptance materials recieved back, and do some statistical analysis on it, and rate the various rebate clearing-houses and companies backing the rebates. I think the results would be interesting, to say the least. They would probably be interesting to various state AG's as well. 🙂

Two Black Friday rebates for a single item. Both mailed on the same day in December. One was approved in January - they sent me an email - I'm still waiting for the check. The other is not shown on their website. I emailed them using their onsite web form yesterday, and am awaiting an answer.

I have five rebates that have been accepted according to the website. Not sure what the problem with rebateshq is. I find that they are one of the better companies in not denying rebates for stupid reasons.

I've had dozens of rebates fulfilled by Parago, Inc. (the company behind rebateshq.com). Only one of the most recent was denied, but that was quickly cleared up by phone call. It was an Amazon.com order on the last day qualifying for the rebate, and they somewhat understandable used the actual shipping date to deny the claim. Other people have had similar experiences; call in and oftentimes they'll resolve the issue on the spot in your favor (in other words, they don't actually chase down any paperwork).

Another (older) rebate that was MIA for many months turned out to have been issued to the wrong address. They reissued the check (presumably stopping the previous one) and it got to me quickly. With web site filing, data entry is no longer a problem.

All in all, they've paid promptly (I had two recent Staples rebates paid in under a month) but that's more a reflection of the manufacturer funding the rebate program rather than the retailer. Out of the rebate clearinghouses I've had experience with, Parago is easily one of the better ones.

Dead Parrot Sketch is correct about TCA Rebates, which handles all CompUSA rebate offers. They pay, but are very slow in doing so. A lof of the Hot Dealers avoid them for that reason, but I haven't blacklisted them yet.

Always scan and save images of the:

1. Completed Rebate Form(s)
2. UPC/Proof of Purchase
3. Receipt
4. One additional scan showing all three paper-clipped together on top (or below) the addressed/stamped envelope

Many times you can get two or three items on the scanner.

I know, its a hassle, but it will pay for itself if they ever attempt to deny one or two rebates.

This is also how I keep track of all my rebates. I have a folder called REBATES and I give each rebate offer its own sub-folder. When the check comes in, all is well, I delete the folder.

Ok, it's been 4 months (Black Friday's Cendyne DVD drive w/2 rebates). Where the heck is my rebate? Anybody have a phone number I can call?
