I get a lot of spam, before about two weeks ago, if I'd go a day without checking my email, I'd get maybe 10-15.

Now, I get 50-100 a day. There's periods where I get one a minute for 10-20 minutes. It doesn't make any sense, I've been super busy, so I haven't signed up for anything that would warrent the latest flood of spam. I've bumped up my spam filtering two levels (It's at level 3 of 5 now, the next two levels are very extreme) and it doesnt even help.

I think tomorrow I'm calling my ISP and having them delete my email account. This is getting crazy.

Cloudmark Spamnet is your friend. I get upwards of 200 pieces of junk mail a day. Sometimes more. :(
Cloudmark blocks about half of them.

Yes. In the last month or so, there's been a lot of anti-spam publicity and activity. Spammers are just upping their activity. One, because they can. Two, because they want to get as much as they can before things change. Three, because all the anti-spam stuff just means more opportunities for them to send their junk out. To a spammer, a no-spam list is just another list of people who might be interested in - well, you know what.

Lots of talk about this over on the internet marketing boards, because a lot of normal targeted double-opt-in marketing is getting filtered out as spam.

We live in interesting times.

Strangely enough, I have (of all things) a Hotmail account that gets almost no spam, maybe 2 or 3 on a bad day.

As well, the spam filter catches almost all of it , so it's easy to fix that! Like Strong Bad says: DELETED!

In the past 2 months I have had to add 2 ENTIRE COUNTRIES to my spam filters because the spammers now own some of those top level domains.

Internet e-mail will become officially useless once spammers buy ".com" and ".net". They already own ".ar" and ".ru"

The only spam that annoys me is the porn spam on MSN. I wonder if it's even possible for me to reply fast enough to get in a fast "fvck you" before the bots log off. :)

I had to abandon 3 hotmail accounts due to spam. Its annoying how they find clever aways around blocks and filters.

The amount of spam I get through my work email has gone up steadily. I'm not looking forward to when I get back to work the week after next (I'm on vacation). Probably spend an hour clearing my inboxes out....
