Has anyone else noticed the Basic Search works better than Advanced Search?

Here's a super fun test.

Try the advanced search, and put the following threads in Any Word and select Off Topic

Walmart
Wal-mart
Wal mart

You'll get the Xbox 360 thread (??) and the Tales from the Retail World (a classic)

Now try running Walmart or Wal-mart in the basic search on Off Topic. You'll get threads with Walmart actually in the title.

I was looking for the Penn and Teller's Bull@#$# episode on walmart. I wanted to finish watching it, but still can't find the thread linking to it! Grr, stupid search function. Used a google search instead and found a full version of the episode in about 2 seconds.

yeah advanced search never worked. basic search works assuming the thread will have a good title.

I'm not sure what you mean. The Basic Search definitely seems to work better than Advanced.

you have to change the "search what" to title and summary

you can't search the body in advanced search, that is the part that doesn't work, advanced search works fine if you only search the title and summary and people put key words in their titles and summaries

Just being Ironic. aka, your point has been stated many times before, yet you seemed to not find it using "Search".
