Has anyone else in the UK noticed their rig temperatures go up?

Hi,
Ive noticed that my CPU temps has gone up. Alot.
Usually 41*c load, its now 45*c load.
Is this just because its gotten quite a bit hotter lately? Or is something wrong with my systems cooling.

Well, in the east coast US it has gotten significantly hotter, and I have yet to turn on AC, and my temps have risen about 4-5C, so I'd say it is the regular beginning of summer.

Well, here in brum the temps gone up quite a bit the last couple of days, and, yep, my rig temps have gone up too. Just when i was getting it near silent, I've had to speed up the fans again. My CPU is ok, but my ti4400 is pushing 50 C. Time to put a fan on the fanless cooler.

I live slightly north of brummy land. lol.
In Crewe to be exact.
Good, so its not just my rig temps that have gone up. So i know that my rig aint got something wrong with it.

Yup....i hear ya m8......I'm in London :)

My System temps are 6 to 7*C up at 43*C now, thats while surfing the net.

AXP 2100+ @ 2700+ with Coolermaster CP5-6J31 Copper based HSF
MSI nForce2 (stock passive northbridge cooling)
512MB PC2100 CL2.5 @ PC2700 CL2
32MB GeForce2 GTS
IBM 180GXP in Thermaltake Golden Hardcano 5 HD Cooler
QTEC Dual-fan 550W PSU
80mm intake fan / 60mm exhaust fan

But I need a new case for sure, still running my old one - can't even run dual channel due to space restrictions.
Thinking about a Chieftec Dragon....

Chilled, i notice that you have a Q-Tec PSU. Are they any good? I was thinking of buying one from OC UK a while back, but wasnt too sure about them.
Whats the noise level from them like?
bty, get a Cheiftec Scorpio from OC UK. I have a Full Tower one, and it rules. They all have a minimum of 3 80mm intakes and 2 80mm exhausts. There are some pictures of the full tower insides on my website, the midi tower ones are the same but everything above the psu in my pictures isnt there.

BoomAM:

i've had my QTEC since January. Works great, some ppl found it noisy, but for me its rated at 33dB, which is just fine. Exhaust air is kinda warm, but i think its just my setup. It has good power output tho and i recommend it. Hell....it was only £18 from eBuyer, so it was good value. don't get the 400/450W, its a pile of crap from reviews. the 550W has a different structure tho. look at reviews - search at google.

wow....ur scorpio full tower is HUGE! i think i'll get the midi version. i see OcUk sell the cheiftecs with a PSU, which i don't need. I was thinking of getting the midi dragon version for £35 at aria when its on deals of the day.

OC UK do lots of accessories for the cheiftec cases, such as case windows, blowholes, front usb/firewire sockets as well bty.
33dBa is a bit loud for me, so i think i`ll pass for now.

BoomAM - you've got the full tower version?!
I had a dragon midi (From aria) for a bit and it was HUGE! and heavy as all hell. Real solid steel construction. Lots of room inside for drives and cooling, but I practically needed to build an extension to fit it in ;)
I don't even want to think what the full tower must be like!

Chilled - I recommend a Lian Li aluminium case like my PC-60 from Aria. v.nice indeed.

I'm getting 34-35 sys temp and 46 from my XP2200+ at XP2400+ (and 51 from my ti4400 with a zalman heatpipe cooler on it.)
Man, i wish i had air conditioning - the pc isnt the only thing thats too hot!

If its going to be like this every summer, with the temperatures going up, i think i`ll buy two high powered fans and a fan bus, then when its warm, i`ll stick them on max, and when its cool, i`ll make them quieter.

I wish I had the money for a nice aluminium case :(
Unfortunatly, my budget can only stretch to £50 inc. VAT/delivery.

Ah, fair enough. That was the same reason I bought a stupid crappy noname badlymade case from a local shop a year or so back. (I should have done my homework first)

In the end I decided that I'd rather pay the extra £30 for a case more to my requirements. Of course, just getting a new job and suddenly having (compared to what I was used to) load of money helped my decision :D

For £50 I don't think the chieftec can be beaten - its well made, 4 fan sockets (with clever clip in holders) tons of screwless drive bays, etc. If you've got the space then its a great buy. (i've got no room, and I'm not sure my desk would take the weight!). Oh, and it doesn't have a removable motherboard tray, or front USB, which is a bit of a pain, but not the end of the world.

Just one thing - don't get the black one. Its not black at all, but this cheap plasticky grey colour. Get it in silver or blue or something.

You can buy front usb/firewire sockets for the chieftecs for about £10, from OC UK.

True, but they definitely aren't less than £50 ;)

by the way, is it me or does it seem to be getting noticibly hotter in the UK each summer? I really don't remember it getting so hot back when I were a lad (mind you, back then, all this were fields ;) )

Ooooh, lots of fellow Brits :D I'm just outside of London, but just within the M25.

My temps of the ones that I've been monitoring have gone up a bit, as has the temperature in my room!!

I like it to be nice and warm, but give me the cold winters and low CPU temps ;)

I've also got that Q-Tec 550W PSU, from OcUK actually! I got it in Feb when my Enermax 365VE browned out on 4 of the ATX pins, burning out the K7S5A as well. Oh well, at least it was an excuse to get my 1700+ and 8RDA+ ;)
