Has anyone else here attended Capella University?

I'm making my final decision to attend or not. My local college has a distance learning program but I tried out this semester and I don't think it's adequate. Capella has an Information Technology bachelor's program, and an Information Security master's program.

They run their program differently, they use quarters instead of semesters. Each quarter is 2 classes. It's going to cost me about $12,000 per year.

Only if I quit my job, then I wouldn't be able to afford the $12k.

Someone in my family works there now and did attend school there at one point but ended up transferring to a different grad school.

From what I have heard it is a lot of busy work. You constantly have to be online following up on reading and posting replies to everyone elses work. The workload is more spaced out during the week instead of having class, say once a week, at night. It isn't an easy alternative to a 'normal' school.

I have taken online courses through the UofMN and it seems that online coursework is busier and more tedious at times to kind of 'make up' for the class being online. I have heard similar storeis with Capella. Weigh your options...If you work during the day maybe you can find a school that has night grad classes - most do I think.

Penn College use to but is no longer guaranteeing evening classes, especially for the IT programs. I don't have any other options for colleges unless I move.

I would stick with their distance learning program, which is "Technology Management", a 2+2 degree. I already have my associates in Networking so then the next 2 years are all business classes. But they are using webct without any type of consistency. And you get a bunch of business teachers trying to layout their webct accounts and it's one big headache to figure out what you're supposed to be doing each week.

I have a friend/co-worker who is in the process of applying there, community counseling or such, she will be able to get licensed here in PA with the degree she will get from there, if that means anything to you.
