I feel that I am a pretty patient and understanding person when it comes to the service industry...so my expectations are not always high on things.

With that being said, I cannot even believe how terrible their service is...I am at day 50 of the number transfer...I had the information submitted to my carrier on the 8th of June, they responded on the 18th of June saying that the transfer was approved...and that is where I have sat since then..

i have probably called vonage 15 times since then which has resulted in probably over 5 hours of wasted time.

There service people are the most rude and antaginistic group I have had the unfortunate pleasure to deal with...I have a thick skin but these people are beginning to get under even that.

I have had several promises for supervisors to call me back when I asked to speak to someone else...never to have them call....

And my favorite...I finally got a supervisor to call me back...but what does the dipsh!t do....he calls the vonage phone number which isn't hooked up so I get a voicemail on our vonage line....which goes something like this

"sir this is jason from vonage, you requested a call back from a supervisor...I am calling you back...if you have any questions call our customer service number at 1-vonage-help"

Nice one dumb ass...call the number that isn't hooked up yet....that is management material :)

They keep on telling me that my phone service won't release our number...even though I called our present company and they tell me they approved the transfer over a month ago...

HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THE SAME LUCK I AM HAVING ?

please do tell

The phone company we have right now is TDS metro com

The issue that pisses me off with vonage is you get to deal with all these jackass customer service people who don't know dick about anything...each time I talk to one I get a different answer....and in order to talk to someone above them you have to them call you back...which if you notice isn't working too well for me...

then they try to calm you down by telling me they are going to submit a request for an update and say a line transfer professional will be contacting you via email with an update...(got that several times)....not once have I recieved an email from vonage about an update.

I have dealt with crappy service before but this takes the cake...you can't even get to a supervisor to bitch....

i've had Vonage for almost a year now with no real problem, though it's hard to complain when i've had almost a year of free telephone service. i got a couple people to sign up when i first joined. got a couple hundred in credit in like 2 weeks. haven't touched my account since.

did you just get a new number or did you transfer your number ? I am guessing that the process would have been a totally different experience for us if we would have gotten a new number....

I have used the service a couple of times just on a single line and like u said it isn't bad at all...so hopefully when it is all said and done it will be worth it.

got a new number to test it out then transfered my house number. yes it's the transfer thats the catch. took them a little over 2 months so thats 2 months of paying for both phone lines.
