Has anyone done data entry as a job?

I did it for a while, just hope they let you listen to music/radio or something, otherwise you may lose your sanity. most likely you will just be typing in the same crap over and over. i worked for capital one typing in check amounts and credit card numbers, i liked the credit card #s for some reason. since it was a simple job eventually i would reach a state where i could think about whatever i wanted, part of your brain takes over the repetitive nonsense, in that way the job is not bad, if you have things to think about. if you don't and all you do is focus on the job you will hate it quick.

I worked for the census in 2000 (high school)

was a good job, not all data entry, but I could put on headphones and let my mind wander while I did it.
