Iam sure this is the right place to post this cause it does deal with video.

Anyway is this an okay deal, i need to know?

Or do you guys think the price will come down soon or is there somthing that is better?

Help....

You need to be careful with these. Because of the refresh rate they work at, they wont deffinately work on all LCD screens, but should work on all CRT's.
NTSC games might be ok though as they run at 60hz natively.... we just get problems over here because the standard PAL refresh rate is 50hz.

It's more than just that I believe, no PAL gamecube or xbox game supports progressive scan, even though many do support 60hz. Most PS2 games don't support progressive scan in any region. I have no idea if a 50hz 480p game would work, but I'm pretty sure they don't exist, all 480p games are also 60hz so the games are definetely not working on the transcoders because they're at 480i, and the 50hz might cause it as well.

Well the main reason i am thinking of getting the X2VGA 2 is cause right now i stay in Canada and i am going to move to South Africa.

In South Africa they use PAL and not NTSC, so i won't be able to just plug my Xbox (which i bought in Canada and is NTSC) to a TV from there and work.

So thats why iam thinking of getting that device, this seems like my only option.

Do any of you guys think there is any other way of working arround this, like besids buyng that X2VGA 2, is there anything else i could use to make my Xbox work there in a PAL country?

AS a side note the power issue is already taken care of, there is a converter i can use to make the Xbox work there(Iam not asking i am telling you guys).

1. I'm assuming since you're NTSC, you'll be using NTSC games?
2. A mod chip of some sort would let you play on a PAL TV.
3. Some PAL tvs support NTSC signals.
4. There's nothing really cheaper than the X2VGA 2 that will work well.

For No.2 are you sure a mod chip can do that.
Cause i rather have my Xbox on A 64inc TV then a 19inch monitor.

Do you have a Xbox mod'd?

I am almost Positive. It was one of the reasons the french leaked Halo2 was able to work on the USA x-box. Just do a search for X-Box mods and they will tell you all the features.

Get a KD Xblaster instead. I used it with my Xbox, gamecube and PS2 and now I'm using it to game in 720p with the 360 on my projector.

No, I mean the HDTV formats. In America, the HDTV format is called ASTC, it is incompatible with NTSC, and consists of 480p, 720p, and 1080i all running at 60hz. If the PAL territories also use ASTC, then as long as you were running the xbox on an hdtv in 480p or 720p then there'd be no problems. I have no idea, maybe someone has tried before?

Ooo sorry i read your question wrong, i don't know if that would work but if do use my Xbox on a Pal tv it is going to be on a regular Pal tv and not a HDTV, well at least not any time soon.
