Has anyone bought from Ingram Micro?

I finally got my business registered, and now I need to buy some games. With the wholesale distributor I have found, if the game sells for $50, I can buy it for $40-$45. I was hoping I would be able to buy games cheaper than that so I could make more profit.

Ingram Micro looks like a great distributor, and I think I have heard of other small businesses in my town buying from them. I think the computer store I used to work at bought from them. BUT, I have to pay $100 to get an account so I can see their prices.

So I was just wondering if somebody else has an account with them, maybe you could tell me if they sell their stuff cheaper than other distributors.

D&H Distributing does a lot with games as well.

The profit margins on these things are minimal, so don't expect to pay much less.

I sold circa 1980 games (in the 80's) and let me warn you. Be careful how many of each title you stock. As people become tired of them, you can't even give the things away.

I will be selling online. I have an account with D&H, but some of there stuff is priced pretty high.

Also, when I applied for my business stuff, I said I would be selling video games and other electronics, so if you know of any consumer electronics distributors, let me know please.

Your in the wrong business buddy. If you want to make money, get into the business of selling USB, ethernet cables, and generic peripherals (keyboards, mice, speakers, etc.). THese are the REAL money makers.

Ex:

6FT USB cable cost to you $2
Selling price- $15
$13 profit margin

Generic Keyboard/Mice combo cost to you $11
Selling price- $30
$19 profit margin

Simple enuf?:)

As I said, I can sell any kind of electronics. After you posted that, I looked at the D&H website, and you are right! HUGE markup.

Many of my "goes into" things cost me 11% of the selling price.

I know, I'm bad. If it wasn't for that markup I wouldn't be rich.

I used to do a lot of buying from Ingram Micro back when I was in the business of selling printers & they had really good deals on medium & large HP lasers then.. if you buy large numbers of a product or if you buy a lot of any stuff from them they'll take care of you, but small customers don't do that well.

I use to use Ingram Micro but I found I can do as well on Newegg for hardware. Plus I don't have to buy certain amounts to get better prices.

Ohh man. I remember Ingram Micro from when I used to resell computer hardware. I wonder if my account is still active with them.

I also have a Tech Data account and D&H account.

I sold my business in December of 1986 but there are many businesses which sell these products, I can't mention any suppliers because I've been out of it almost 19 years.

What does that mean?

Does anyone know where I can get the XBOX360 for less than retail price? D&H sells the basic package for like $1 more than MSRP, and the high-end package for like 50 cents less than MSRP. I was hoping I could buy them for $10-$20 cheaper than MSRP.
