I'm not the best deal hunter, i've looked for the past few hours trying to make a good deal on a new setup from dell.

Cousin's birthday is coming up and we want to get her a new computer, shes been using the 300mhz for quite too long. It barely runs, heh...

All we have is about $600-700, can anyone help in setting up a computer thats good for less then $700 shipped.

Currently they have the free shipping, and free 128megs of ram on the Dimension 4400, but everytime i try to make a good working setup its over 900 bucks. How do the people on this forum pick these nice setups up for under 500 even..

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks.

a few tech bargains websites might have coupons for there

or perhaps you could find one that would give you a fat wallet.

Does your cousin also need a new monitor?

The Dell Dimension 4400 would be perfect for her, unfortunately as you found out they don't really have any great specials right now. If you wait, Dell will probably have another big sale where they take $50-$100 off, offer a free CD-RW or DVD upgrade, free shipping and a rebate of up to $200 off. Here's an example of their last sale, Dimension 4400 for $449 after rebate.

When is her birthday?

You could buy a loaded eMachines for $384 from OfficeDepot.com with free shipping after rebate.
