Has anyone been to Watkins Glen Raceway?

If so, where should I sit? Should I buy tickets for a specific turn or just general admission? I am thinking of going to the Nextel Cup race there next week.

YES I HAVE!!!! it's a blast there! i go every year to the NASCAR race, but this year i had a conflict and couldn't 🙁
i can't help you on the ticket purchase unfortunately. the group i go with sits in the same turn year after year. i will tell you to bring some Mardi Grau beads though. 😀

I might be goin' 🙂 Possibly stayin' at a cabin near the PA. Grand Canyon, then a short hop (60 to 70 miles) to The Glen.

About the only track I haven't been to on the east coast. I'm not sure of seating or tickets either, someone else will be handling that

I am going to be in Wilkes Barre, PA and thinking of driving up from there. I just need to know where the good seats/turns are.

I heard that the far right of the main grandstand is a good place to sit. That's from a guy I work with.

I'll be watching it on TV .. probably go next year.

I have not been before. My dad and brother have been to a few Talladega and Daytona races, but I never went. I really want to go to a Bristol night race, but tickets are to damn hard to get.

I've only been to one Nascar event there and sat at turn 1 at the end of the front straight. I would think that somewhere along the back straight would give you the largest view. I've also spent two days driving on the track with the BMW and Audi clubs but I don't think they use the full track for Nascar events.
