Has anyone been to a show at the Pantages Theater in Hollywood?

I'm going to see "Wicked" with a friend tonight, and was wondering what an appropriate outfit would be to wear. He's going to be in a black dress shirt and slacks. Should I wear a dress and heels, or a nice sweater with jeans?

I've never been to that specific theater, but for a Broadway performance like that, it sounds like a dress & heels affair.

Something semi-formal would be good. A dress and heels would probably fit in a bit more. Pantages isn't really that fancy but since it's a musical, you can expect it to pull in people who will dress up a bit more.

I was hoping to get away with a fuzzy pink sweater, a really nice pair of jeans, and heels. Apparently the show is 3 hours (!!), and I'd much rather err on the side of comfort if possible. Still, if it's heels/dress, I'll do the heels/dress.

Okay okay, I'll suck it up and do a dress and heels after all. :p

Plus, I'm sure you'll look dazzling. A nice self-confidence booster.

Or if you have something comfortable that you wear to work with a nice overcoat, that would work just fine too. I do remember when I went to watch Rent at Vegas, my friends and I wore jeans, but that's Vegas. Went I went to see Rent on Broadway and Phanton at OC Performing Arts and the Kodak theatre, I dressed up in slacks and a nice shirt.

I'm quite happy with myself dolled up or not, but I haven't dressed up in awhile. Decision made, dress/heels it is. Time to start getting ready!

Dress up to the hilt! I have seen Yul Brynner(almost 30 years ago) perform at the Pantages with the King and I group and I still remember the ladies and gentleman dressed to kill. People were out to make a fashion statement then.

I still remember being dressed like a slob then...
