Has anyone been able to fit an UNMODIFIED Blue Orb onto an A7V-133?

Any idea of what heatsink/fan would fit on the North Bridge but is better than the stock heatsink/fan?

Anything connecting with thermal tape should be fine, since it doesn't use the holes for mounting.

There may be fans out there that have the right dimensions, but I don't know of any off hand.

The best thing you can do is lap down the Northbridge until it is a smooth, flat surface. Then apply Arctic Silver Epoxy from Arctic Silver to this video/chipset cooler.

Careful, it's permanent.

why is this necessary?

the kk266 doesnt even have a fan on the northbridge, and it does way higher FSB than the a7v133, so is that really the issue.

also, Ive tried, and I cant get that damn heatsink off. is there anyway to do it without feeling like your going to break your board?

I got one on mine, all I had to do is put the push pins in at an angle and it holds 100% ok.

Yeah, all you need to do is push the pins in a a bit of an angle. It holds just fine.

I replaced my original fan on the North bridge for two reasons: to help improve cooling and the possibility of overclocking and because many people have complained that the original fan on the North bridge only lasts for about two months after which time is starts making loud screeching noises due to the bearings failing.
