has anyone been able to boot with a PCMCIA card?

if not why do they have the option to do so...

i am trying to boot off a pcmcia card thats connected to 64 mb flash(not to sure) memory...i copied the boot files from a start up disk to the pcmcia card...and now trying to boot up with it...
i have an ibm thinkpad 760el

Generally, you can't boot up off a PC Card unless the BIOS specifically supports it....and there are very few laptops that I have seen that do.

PC Card support is almost always part of the OS, so if you don't load a driver for it, it won't work....kind of like CDROMs I guess.
