I know the C2 chips have been shipping since july etc etc but I cant seem to find anyone who has gotten a C2 Gigabyte motherboard.

I havent googled extensively but what I have found are posts from mid november with people still getting C1's and stating they've never seen a C2 Gigabyte. What gives??

You mean the Series 8 (Lynx Point, for Haswell) chipset.

Early Fall someone was convinced that Gigabyte would include C2 stepping when/if they release rev. 2 boards.

Yeah Z87 H87 etc, I have seen zero reports of any C2 steppings from Gigabyte in the wild.

Purchased a Z87X-UD5H board last week from Neweggbusiness.com, and it was still the C1 stepping chipset. There's a possibility that the mainboard version will change to 1.1, in order to signify that the C2 version chipset is present.
See: http://forums.anandtech.com/showpost.php?p=35409810&postcount=36
Newegg's price on the Z87X-UD5H has now increased +$40 since my purchase last week: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128593
So, maybe they were cleaning out their old stock and may now finally be offering the C2 stepping boards?

I really don't get why they are not signifying the change somehow, unless they have tons of stock on the "old" ones and are afraid they'll be stuck with them.

I wanted the GA-H87-D3H but went ahead and got an Asus since they label the boards C2. But its still surprising to see absolutely noone having a Gigabyte C2 board at this point, Asrock are shipping them, people with MSI (i think) have gotten C2 boards. Gigabyte don't label them but I would have expected someone to have a C2 from them by now. Possibly the reason they don't label them :\

The ASRock H81 board I just got has C2 stepping. I like Gigabyte a lot, I hope they get with the program...

Really? I did a quick search and saw that only Windows 8 has USB 3.0 support but the things I read implied it was buggy. Does Windows 7 have any USB 3.0 support?

Not natively. What you encounter Windows 7 on a computer with USB 3, you will always find a separate set of drivers for those ports.
