Mag Innovision? I've had a few over the years, and friends have had them and some models are nice, especially for the money but I thought they went kaput a few years back... are they still around?

Some very nice monitors. Worthy of consideration. Been around for some time.

That's what I thought, but my local Best Buy has some nice looking seventeen inch flat CRTs made by Mag for $80. Judging by the responses you guys have given me, I think I'll pick one up tomorrow, as my good monitor died a couple days ago.

I owned one back in the day, I bought their mid priced model, got about 3 yrs out of it before it died. My point is, you will more than likely get your $80 worth out of it, don't expect any more and you will be happy with your purchase. ronach

Three years seems like a good lifespan for a nice (and cheap) flatscreen CRT.

Had a 17" Mag back in the mid 90's. Had good refresh and colors and probably had it for about 3-4 years before replacing it with an iiyama vision master pro 17. The iiyama was much better, but the Mag wasn't bad either. Started to get shadowing on the left side of the screen near the end though, which is why I replaced it.

Mag is a budget brand, AFAIK. That may not necessarily speak to quality or reliability, but I'd check out the model in question thoroughly before buying. I value a nice display more than most other components, as it's my primary point of contact with my PC. :)

My son has had is MAG 19" CRT for 5 yrs now. That thing works great. Excellent price to reliability ratio. I got my parents a 15" MAG CRT 3 yrs ago and it is still serving them well.

I recommend picking one up.

Seeing as how I don't really want to spend more than $100 - $150, a budget brand is fine so long as it's reliable and the picture quality is decent. To wit: I was perfectly happy with my used off-brand CRT (until it died, which is why I'm in the market for a new monitor) for gaming and everything else.
