ok heres my plan, purchase a peltier and hook a reasonable HSF on both sides, then attach it so that the cool side is in the case and the hot side is out, this should cool the air in the case like it does with those little peltier based fridges you can buy which will let the heatsink on my processor work better.

it should also reduce the possibility of killing my CPU or MOBO with condensation

any thoughts.

also if i can only get a power supply (seperate from the one in my pc) that can provide 12 volts 4 amps and the peltier is rated at more, will it just not get as cold or blow the power supply or what

No.......but it's not a bad idea.....but where can I find a 11"x19" peltier...or for that matter a heatsink big enough to fit on that bad boy. :)

I had an idea like this a while ago, but I never implemented it. Using ducting you can blow the cool air from the cold heatsink to any component you like. The hot side could be in an isolated area of the case where air can from the outside can cool it, but not have the heatsink outside the case. The lower front is a good place, or even the upper rear in large cases. I'd love to see someone actually do this...I'd do it if I were to overclock anything.

I don't think this will be a very practical cooling solution. Of course the peltier can get things really cold, but they're way too small in my opinion to cool fairly large areas, and i think you can forget about very large volumes. Air passes through lots of pipes and all sorts of things just to get cooled down (like an a/c) so i don't think one tiny peltier can cool a large amount of air.

That's just what i figure, i may be completely wrong though! :)
