Has anybody used 2 same brand/model network cards in the same box?

Despite the problem of how to distinguish one from the other in control panel, I was told that MSWindows (98/Me/2000) has problems if you use two same brand/model network cards.

Can somebody confirm this? Fact or just noise?

Now, everything is working for me, except for a long boot process that did not happen with only one of the cards installed. Please check previous post:

Thanks... I guess I was rigth - I have two 3Comm oem... But the slow startup is killlllling me! Do you think removing/detecting both devices migth help? Will Windows reassign interrupts, since I do not like the way they are now?

The only problem you may have is distiguishing which card is which when you setup your network (ICS, wingate, sygate). Take a guess, if you're wrong, choose the other one. There shouldn't be any hardware incompability.

it will work fine. i've found it easier to install 1, set it up, then install the other, that way you dont have to worry about getting the 2 mixed up
