I am allmost ready to run down and order the ASUS CUSL2 i815 MB. But just to be 110 % sure that it is the right motherboard to use with my PIII 600E, and my 2 x 128 MB 133MHz ram.

Please post your experiences with that board, if any.

Cheers

As far as I know, it's not out yet, except in the hands of reviewers.

Asus 815(e) boards, one MATX and one ATX, were already released in Akihabara, Japan two weeks ago.

It usually takes about a month in order for many products to show up here in the US after they appear in Akihabara.

The CUSL2-M is the Micro ATX version, correct? Does anyone know an approximate street price on this board?

no i believe the M means it has onboard audio
and asus doesn't just add a letter for micro atx versions normally they give them a whole different name

I was looking at the CUSL2-M on Asus' website, and it's a micro atx formfactor. Video and Audio are options, but it is micro.

SocrPlyr, the M is for micro just look at the CUV4X & CUV4X-M,next all 815E boards have on board video which can be disabled for your own AGP card, there are two versions of the CUSL2 one with onboard audio & one without.

It says CUSL2 AV so I guess with audio, don`t worry it might be slightly cheaper in the US.

UPDATE- they have changed the info at Dabs.com, it now has no on-board audio(great!)

PCB rev 1.02, no audio.

VERY nice board.....hehehe....now all I have to do is see how far I can take my 700E on it.

$1430HK = $184USD

Ouch. I got my P3V4X for $113USD. That's only $881HK.
BTW Hong Kong rocks, I was from there.

I think that I'll be buying 2 of the micro ATX versions, and one full ATX. (I have a project or two in mind that can really take advantage of the small form factor ;)). I am prolly gonna wait until August or September to buy them... but they definitely seem like the motherboard of chioce right now :)

The CUSL2-M will have adaptec lan chip onboard. It is expected to be HKD$300(~$38USD) more EXPENSIVE than the CUSL-2. (Don't know if there will be other versions that have no on-board lan chip or not)

MAMAFUFU: Adaptec makes LAN chips? LAN functionality is integrated with the ICH2, with the CNR slots. What do you need a LAN chip for?
