Vapochill Lightspeed, or VapoLS as its referred to, is a very effective cooling method.

There are a few of us here at the AT forums with VapoLS's cooling our rigs. You really want to talk to Yoxxy if you want some good info on vapochill lightspeed.

Some folks report bad experience using VapoLS to cool quad's, but my own experience has not reflected this.

My vapoLS has kept my B3 QX6700 running at 3.9GHz for >1year now (full load 24x7 too).

It will not hold my B3 at 4GHz though, I do get thermal runaway at that point. If I had a G0 or stepped up to a 45nm QX9650 I am sure I could use the same vapoLS to hit 4.3 or 4.5GHz.

They do hit you in the powerbill dept though. Using a Kill-a-watt meter my VapoLS unit (just the unit, isolated from system power consumption) chews thru about 330W. At 24x7 operation this adds about $2/day to my power bill.

For people who want their vapoLS to support even higher heat loads from their quads they can get aftermarket tune-ups with different gases and the like. Checkout the xtremesystems vapor cooling forum: http://www.xtremesystems.org/f.../forumdisplay.php?f=80

Spend some time over at XS, there are some really knowledgeable HVAC guys there who can be very helpful. I was about to build a chilled liquid set-up or a chilled air set-up till I got my new project truck.
