I've talked to quite a few people that have tried it including myself, and everyone seems to have a vastly different opinion and experience with it. Download it and try it out for yourself to see what you think.

I tried the first beta on my OLD K6 233. It crawled. And it crashed alot. I haven't tried Beta 2 on either of my new computers, but I like Neoplanet, so I'm probably just gonna stick with that.

hmmm. I'm just lookin for a good alternative to IE.

I heard Netscape 6 is supposed to be faster because they got rid of a lot of code, makin it smaller, more efficent.

I'll try ti myself. Should I be aware of any problems with installin it and un-installing it? I don't want to install it, get problems, and can't get rid of the problems.

Are you talking about a Beta or Preview Release 2 ? PRs have been round for ages ... dunno about a Beta

I just downloaded Preview Release 2, and it is incredibly slow. I'm on a cyrix, so everything is slow, but this is just WAY TOO slow. (oh yeah, its ugly too)

I noticed both the preview release 1 & 2 to be a bit slower and to eat up more system resources than earlier versions.

IE5.5 is very fast for me. It can render anything that is local faster than you can blink your eye. Netscape 4.75 you can still watch images load, even from hard drive. Netscape 6 doesn't look any better.

well Netscape 6 at least does alot of things that the Netscape 4.x series couldn't. like some of the java stuff that you needed IE to use. othewise it's the same. and it looks alot different. some people here think it's bloated.. it's not that bad. it also crashed a fair amount, but it's only a beta version, so I will reserve judgement till later.

BTW, netscape 4.x works as good as IE, and does EVERYTHING I want. therefor if you have had problems with it, then you need to think of installing it almost right away after you install Windows.

Nutscape 6 is really dumb and bloated. I downloaded beta 1 and it sucked, I don't think I'm going to upgrade past 4.7 any time soon if AOL is going to kill a perfectly good browser.

I've tried Netscape 6 Beta. Don't like it.

I haven't found anything better than IE 5. Not even IE 5.5. ;)

I like it, myself, although it is very ugly and it has somethings that REALLY piss me off (not nearly as many as IE, though).

Paulson:

<< zuni even doesn't like it. >>

Since when was zuni the browser god? Programmers like what they know what to program for, period. I personally don't care what he likes, since the only thing that matters, to me, is what I like. Personally, I hate IE, and would much rather use Netscape.
