Has anybody seen this before? :P

it looks like it will work, but why?adds hassle, takes up a free slot, has potential to leak... why not jsut install an artic cooling ati or nv silencer? or how about a vf700? dosent look like it dissapates heat too well since it's got such little surface area and transfer of energy from solid to liquid to solid to air (so many transfers)cannot be efficent.
 
i saw it, and i thought it was a cool idea. it certainly beats air cooling solutions for efficiency.

a bit of a downside tho is it takes up alot of space, and of course it's going to cost a bit more...

well all it compare si ati silencer and stock. where's the zalman vf700? by the close results, the zalman probably(and by that i mean im 90% sure) beats it, without the hassle of leaks, cools the memory and is quieter.

the only direct comparison i could find shows nv silencer beating the zalman (abeit slightly):

having water cooling for years now, my experience is the "hassle of leaks" is a non-factor, and claiming cooler memory is speculation as there's no solid data showing how effective those heatsinks are. there's also no indication which would be "louder".

that being said, aside from the coolness factor, i'm not sure the zalman wouldn't be a more sensible solution in "bang for the buck" terms, but it has it's own limitations (size) as well. at any rate it's always nice to see people trying to offer innovative solutions (even if they are not as effective as one would hope for), and imo thermaltake should be commended for offereing some of the unique products that they have.

personally i went with the nvsilencer, tho when i get around to it i'll remove it and install my vga waterblock to see if any improvements is worth the hassle...


 
I wonder if it could dissipate enought heat to work as a cpu cooler, get some longer hoses and some custom holding clip and you are set.
 
The product is clearly a middle between the best air cooling and a water setup. But to me it doesn't seem that attractive. It takes up too much space (compaired to air) and it's a bit too noisy and a little less effective compaired to a real water setup. I would rather get a nv silencer than this.
