This is from a book i'm reading called "The Power of Now." This is a really wild book. Sometimes I have to put the book down because what I'm reading sounds so radical and crazy. It has a sort of new age/Buddhist sound to it.

He says things that are so really hard to believe. For example, he says that at your core of existence there is a deep unshakeable peace and joy that cannot be affected by your life situation. He tells of his own experience of how he was homeless and would sit on park benches and be completely and uttery content. He had no money, no home, no friends no friends, yet his life COULDN"T BE BETTER. (no drug use whatsoever) That really blows my mind.

He gives a list of thought processes that are bad for your health...

"Are you always trying to get somewhere other than where you are? Is most of your doing just a means to an end? Is fulfillment always just around the corner or confined to short-lived pleasures, such as sex, food, drink, drugs, or thrills and excitement? Are you always focused on becoming, achieving, and attaining, or alternateively chasing some new thrill or pleasure? Do you believe that if you acquire more things you will become more fulfilled, good enough or psychologically complete? Are you waiting for a man or woman to give meaning to your life?"
... and I'm guilty of all of them.

sounds like a nut case to me...

He should have told his mother that sex was bad for her health and then he would have never been born.

Its possible. This guy claims he changed his life 180 degrees, turned a hell into a heaven. I support people who try to find ways to improve ones life, even if they sound somewhat bizarre (as long as they are not hurting others, of course). If what this guy is saying is half true, than he has accomplished a lot and there is a lot to be learned from him.

I looked up Seven Habits on Amazon. It seems to be a much different kind of book, focusing on being successful in the real world right? Did you find it motivational?
