trying to remind/coerce 18 year olds to register for selective service under the guise that they would be eligible for student loans.

first off what is selective service registration?

and is this a sign that the military is hurting for ppl?

selective service registration is registering for the draft, basically....and its not a guise...if you dont register you're not eligble for student loans or govt financial aid

This is true, it's always been like this too. Males as they turn 18 get all sorts of mail about this. There's no way of getting out of it, before someone asks.

It is NOT an indication of an upcoming draft.

would you get arrested if you ignored it

i think it is a crime not to register...but i dont really see men in suits coming to pick you up form your house for not doing it...but you never know...

I don't know that it would get you arrested, but any male over 18 is required by law to register for Selective Service. It's no big deal.

i know i have done it already as i think its a requirement to get into most colleges but I was just wondering why they'd need a radio campaign
