So' i've been running 3x cheap 21.5 inch 1080p panels for like 10ish years or so.
Games that cant handle the resulition/dont support super super crazy widescreen 48:9 ratio tend to all work ok when just displaying to the central monitor. However, most games tend to work OK out of the box.
These 3440x1440 displays look interesting.
Something like a MSI Optix MAG341CQ would be a big upgrade in terms of faster refresh rate, highre verticle resolution, and less crazy aspect ratio, and no more bezels from using multi-displays.
Would lose a little bit of overall resolution, but, the monitor would fit better on my desk and the small sacrifice in overall resolution would allow the GPU to push the framerate higher (since my old cheap displays are basic 60hz units)
i do not really game competitively, mostly just mess around/tinker with stuff like Rimworld and Kerbal Space Program, or play online with friends & wife with some WOW.
Have other folks here gone from 3x cheap displays to 1x better display?
Do you have regrets?
I likely will keep what I have at least for another year or two, but, might take the plunge next time i find a deal on a decent 3440x1440 display depending on advice/suggestions/recomendations. (note: i'd be looking at entry level 3440x1440 displays. probably will wait until they come into the $300 price range, or, maybe will change my mind and consider 4K)
