Has anybody here transferred a domain before?

How does it work? Do you have to do anything with the old provider? Also, what if the domain is currently expired? Do you have to renew with them and then transfer?

I've done it transferred a domain from RegisterFly.com to NameCheap.com went quick and easy.

Do you currently own the domain?

Is the domain expired already?

Yeah, i think the domain already expired. I'm wondering if i have to re-subscribe through them and then transfer...

Which domain registrar is it CURRENTLY registered with and who are you trying to transfer it to?

Weird...it's supposed to be expired, but I'm allowed to login anyways.

I'm currently using tera-byte.com but am thinking about transferring it to directnic (which i've used for a few years), or a new domain place like godaddy or namecheap.

Transferring a domain is easy as long as you're the admin contact e-mail. You need to initiate or request the transfer from your NEW domain registrar. Just click one of the following links to begin the process. DirectNIC is great and since you have other domains with them, I would suggest going with them:

DirectNIC.com

GoDaddy.com

NameCheap.com

I know network solutions will not transfer an expired domain. I don't know about anyone else.
