EDIT: It's a 10 day program/seminar type deal. You fly to san jose I believe, and visit the industry leaders, and go to some seminars.

Thinking about going there, not 100% sure though.

EDIT2: If I went, anybody live in San Jose? :p

While probably interesting, it sounds like a waste of $3000 (after air fare and misc nickel and dime expenses).

Just my $.02

one of my daughter's friends did this a couple years ago.. 3 years ago I guess, it was in texas that year. it talks a good game about being elite but I think they must invite pretty much everyone, or at least everyone who takes a computer class.. this kid was a marginal student at best.

I think he had a good enough time.. so if it's something you're interested in doing and you have that kind of money to spend on "geek camp", go for it. but if you're looking at it as an honor and a resume booster.. you'll probably be disappointed.

A couple of my friends and I got an invitation for it when we were Juniors. One of my younger friends (who has the money) went to it last year. Basically, he said it's a circle jerk and a pissing contest for immature computer geeks.

i got invited last year; hanging out with a bunch of losers for ten days didn't seem really appealing even if it was in san jose

I'd rather do the politics workhop offered at Stanford by some other place. It's $3500 but it's actual courses, you live on campus for the summer, and you can get high school credit for it. Not to mention there are a lot of cool things you can do.

Problem is I don't think my parents will let me do it because we don't have the money, and the scolarships are only partial.
