Has anybody ever experienced this as a side effect of overclocking?

My computer will freeze for about a 1/2 second every 4-5 seconds. If I am moving the mouse the, cursor completely stops for about a 1/2 sec. I ran the fish screen saver to see how frame rate is affected and I can see it drop from 120 to 15 for a split second then goes back to 120. The pattern is very consistent though.

Its an 850e overclocked to 950 using an Alpha P3125. The CPU temperature is only 28 degrees Celsius and the bus speed is 112 mhz (75mhz AGP\ 38 mhz PCI). Considering the cool temperature and relatively low bus speed I wouldn't expect to see such a problem. The ram is Infineon PC133

Have you tried running the computer without it being overclocked. That's probably the best way to tell if OCing is your problem.

Things to check are Drive activity...
how much RAM you actually have free... use System monitor and the "Unused Physical Memory" module
Defrag and possibly adjust your swapfile...
Try a program like Cacheman and see if this helps...

BTW, Screen Savers are a Horrible test, because many Screen savers have their priority set low,
so low that it won't use the CPU at all to it's capability, this isn't bad but good, a screen
saver shouldn't tax the PC.....

A clean install is another method, just watch what you re-install....
I don't think this is a result of O/C'ing but rather another setup annomoly....
