Has anybody bought an Asus P4G8x from Myinfinity.com yet? I herd they are not a good online reseller to buy from....The quality of the motherboard should be ok however, right?

Myinfinity.com doesn't have them yet(eta is 12/04)so noones bought one. As far as Myinfinity.com being a good place to shop I checked ResellerRatings and there lifetime rating is only 2.24(compared that to NewEggs which is 9.58)so I would pray before I bought anything from them.

yep....you are so right...I think I'll wait alittle while longer. I do like the features on the Gigabyte 8INXP as well. Hopefully, Newegg will have it in stock in a week or two!!

Alvio.com has it as a combo for about $417.00 Time to buy a ga-8IHXP2 w/ rdram...... It may cost 70.00 more but may be more stable.

GB mainboard est price $240.00 + 4 sticks of Mushkin 256 ddr 2100 at $93.00 ea. total is $612.00
Intel 850E est price $158.00 + 4 sticks of kingston 256 rdram 1066 at $128.00 ea. total is $670.00

a difference of about $70.00 + there might be an agp erata error with the new GB chipset. HMMMMMMMMMMM Maybe for stability reasons alone I would think without overclocking I would pay $70.00 more.

Current project: Will purchase from newegg

GA-8IHXP2 w/ 1 GB rdram
Intel 2.53 mhz 533
Might purchase a Pny Geforce ti4600
Antec 550 psu

Already have the following:
cdrw, dvd
sblive value
wireless mouse
standard keyboard
ctx pr700 monitor
Sony srs-d2pc active super woofer
2 wd 800 hds 7200

Why would you buy four sticks of 256MB Mushkin PC2100 DDR for $372 when you could buy two sticks of 512MB Samsung PC2700 for $264 ($132 ea.)?

I wouldn't assume that $240 is an accurate price for the P4G8X because Myinfinity is probably inflating the price to take advantage of the fact that they are the only place taking pre-orders. Myinfinity are also changing the ETA every few days to fool people into thinking they're getting stock soon so they got a ton of pre-orders (at their super-inflated price). When there are 10 places on Pricewatch listing the P4G8X we'll know what it really costs. Evan (AnandTech mobo reviewer) said the P4G8X price will be about $190.

I'm not expecting to see any GB boards in the UK until January.:(

They've just changed the ETA again, now it's the 9th. The sad thing is their tactics probably work quite well and they have loads of pre-orders from people who won't even see their boards until late December/early January 2003.:(
