My stuff:
Asus CUBX (latest bios)
PIII 600E
Matrox G400MAX
Soundblaster Live! 1024 Player
US Robotics 56k ISA modem
2 x IBM 34GXP 20gb drives
Quietpc.com 300w power supply
I run a dual boot with Win98 SE and Win 2000 Pro. Power management on Win 98 works just fine. Standy mode works just as it should. But on Windows 2000, the system will go into Standby mode, but will *usually* not recover. I either get no response at all or the machine will come back but hang before the desktop is refreshed. The only way I can get out of this is to power off.
ACPI is enabled in Windows 2000 (it was there right from installation). I've tried changing all the power management options in the bios to no avail. I've tried shutting down ZoneAlarm before going into Standby. No difference.
This is driving me nuts - any ideas?
