Has America heard of the Arctic Monkeys yet?

As the title says, has anyone heard of the arctic monkeys yet outside of England? Yesterday their debut became the fastest selling album ever in the UK (thats faster than the beatles...) so will they be the next big thing? Listen to them here: http://www.dominorecordco.com/site/index.php?page=multimedia

I like the first song on that page "when the sun goes down" - great pace, great drums, lyrics, everything.

I had never heard of them til now, and after watching that video, I wish I never did.

The vids are very cheaply made, the band were nobodies until very recently.

I would have posted an audio only track, but it's not available for free.

Just bought their singles on iTunes...haven't heard the whole album yet but they sound pretty good.

Also check out Bloc Party and the Editors--some more good post-punk britpop bands

I'm seeing them when they come to Chicago on Sat, 03/18/06. Been following them for a month or so now. If you guys like them, you should check out Hard-Fi too. Saw them about 2 weeks ago.

I think I might take the train down to Chicago for that show...I was planning on visiting a friend around that time, why not that weekend.
