Has AMD ever had soo many CPUs selling for over $500.00?

🙁

no not really GH or CPU, this is just an expression of how expensive it is to get within 90% of AMD's top CPU. 🙁

usually, you can get a GREAT AMD CPU for about $300.00.

wowsers. amd has 9 CPU models over $500.00, all the FX's and X2. and even the A64 4000 is no slouch at $484.00

First, CPU forum is <--- that way.

Although AMD is the first to release a mainstream CPU for over 1000 dollars...

The X2's are priced so high, because AMD doesn't want them to wipe out their A64 market out just yet. It's there as an alternative, but also, they don't ave the manufacturing capacity that they do with the A64's. Prices are that high for a reason 😉

If they were priced the same price as regular A64's, then who would buy the A64's? That would kill their A64 market completely, which they're not ready to do yet.

Well you still can get a great AMD CPU for $300. Just not the best. There's nothing wrong with a 3200+ for todays games.

last chip i bought was a 2500+ barton core when it first came out for under $100 lol. i'm too cheap to upgrade these days.

since i dont' do any gaming, it's really only for bragging rights really.
