Has amazon.com slowed down their shipping process?

I saw the other thread on this, but that was a rant, this is a question. 🙂

My last two orders have both been heavily delayed. I placed an order on Oct. 10th for an item that "usually ships in 24 hours", but it hasn't shipped yet.

I was a huge Amazon fan, going there for virtually any item they sold, but now I'm starting to look at other alternative websites.

Ah well.
 
they have always beat their estimated date so i have no complaints

that do seem to take along time though but i know what i am getting into

and i would rather have free shipping and have them delay it than pay for shipping



OTOH if i really want something the day of release i like a video game i would just go to best buy or circuit city
 
Yeah it definitely depends on the product. Part of the reason I don't order too often from deepdiscountdvd.com even though they have the best prices is because it takes so damn long for a product to arrive. Instead, I used to order dvds from amazon, since they were usually only $1 or $2 more. Now though, this puts both of them in a similar situation, so I'd probably save the $1 or $2 since either way, my immediate urge for a product has already passed after the first week.
 
No. I order plenty off Amazon. If anything, their order updating is slow. I've had stuff show up that wasn't even showing up as shipped. Things get to me very promptly even with free shipping cause they have warehouses all over the country now.
 
The free shipping has gotten significantly slower. If you pay for shipping the order comes in fast as it used to with the free shipping.
 
I certainly don't think the free shipping has slowed down. I ordered several items last week and used free shipping, I got an email that they had shipped that afternoon, and the box was at my door the next day.

Can't beat that.
 
WTF, Amazon just changed the ship date AGAIN for an item that "usually ships in 24 hours".

Dammit, now I gotta find their elusive 800 number.

But for an item ordered on Oct. 10th that "usually ships within 24 hours" and it's now 10 days past and they changed their shipping estimate (listed as 10/17-10/19) again, I'm a bit annoyed at 'em.
