Question has am5 matured?

I know it has, but meaning...like I'm ready to build a new rig..I do not want am4 for apparent reasons in 2024. Is Am5 viable and mature at this point?

thanks hitman I got a mountain of am4 parts and ddr4 but do not want to buy a new case psu ram etc unless necessary its that weird in between I don't want to be scrounging for x3d cpus to run gta 6 in 2025....
on its surface its a dumb question but convenience is a bitch

I bought 'mature' AM4 with the 5000 series, and have not experienced any more trouble when I upgraded to AM5 at release. Yes, there were some issues that have been covered in the media (VSOC voltage for one), but it never gave me trouble.

thanks for the replies. I ordered a new thermal take case and will be going am5/ddr5 over the summer. I know future proof is a fools errand..just trying to time it right.

AM5 is significantly more mature than AM4 was at this point in its lifecycle. It's also currently the platform to get if building new. 7800X3D is the reigning gaming champion and efficiency king. The efficiency I appreciate more this time of year with outdoor temps 100F+...

If you want guaranteed USB4 support best to wait until the X870 boards launch. Otherwise no reason why a decent X670/E or B650 board wouldn't suffice. Zen 5 is launching within the next month or so. Zen 6 will also be supported on AM5. So the future is looking pretty good for AM5. AM4 is still solid but is budget tier at this point given that a 7600X will match top X3D SKUs for the AM4 socket.
