Has a MLB Umpire ever reversed themselves? (besides HR calls)

Maybe only once or twice have I seen a Major League Baseball umpire reverse a Home Run call that he thought was foul, or just missed being a HR.

But I have NEVER seen a ump reverse a bad call on the bases, or say getting tagged out at home. I'm watching a game now, and I just saw the runner from 3rd get tagged out on contact by the catcher as he made a run for the plate. They showed it on replay a few times, and it was sooo obviously an out.

Anyone ever hear of a Ump changing their mind?

let me guess, you're talking about the sox/yankees game? I think Posada was safe, but just barely. A good ump will never reverse a bad call. It's his job to learn from the mistake, and attempt to make better calls in the future.

well some calls can be appealed, and another umpire can overrule it or something. this happened in a rockies game a few days ago, saw in on sportcenter or whatever.

Remember the bad call during the Venus Williams vs. Sprem match? One of the fault-watchers called FAULT and but the ref. gave the point to Sprem even though she was suppose to get it. Just happens

If you reverse yourself once then every player will argue every single play. Sometimes you just have to let it go. Plus, upire doesn't have the benefit of instant reply, how can he reverse himself if he doesn't see the replay? He called what he thought was safe and he's gonna stick with his call.

I wish they showed more Baseball over here, I could really get into that game but it gets shown about once or twice a month at ridiculous hour in the morning o'clock

I still don't understand most of the terminology though heh
