Harvard Endorses Obama

Link:http://www.thecrimson.com/article.aspx?ref=521585

Take that NYT!!!!

I know I am going to get rated down by die hard clinton fans out here but seriously I am kind of surprised at this. Harvard is the kind of place you'd expect to be filled with the americas wealthiest kids who want to be future hedge fund managers and like . I am surprised they are endorsing a democrat let alone obama.

I am surprised that Harvard is though

I guess Ivy-leaguers arent all that different from us poor mortals who go to state schools

You're surprised that Harvard is endorsing the Harvard alumnus who was the head of the Harvard law review while he was a student?

Every election the young do something year after year.
They don't vote.
Obama lost New Hampshire so badly because the college towns turnout was so disappointing.

From what I have heard, he barely got elected... they were a lot of conservatives he had to win over

So going by your opinion it was just the fact that Hillary was NY senator that got her the endorsement from NYT????

Talk about journalistic integrity!

There is so much envy of the intellectually gifted it's a handicap for a politician. Bush was smart enough to figure that out very early.

Are you implying that Hillary Clinton somehow got her education and training for the outside world from the New York Times? Does she represent the quality of the NYT's programs to this effect?

Certainly you can see the difference.

No I am merely saying that a bias is possible both ways....the magnitude of it is up for you to decide

Most likely she won it like she wins her other political battles ... intensive lobying...

Almost no other respectable newspaper has endorsed a candidate .. yet.. to the best of my knowledge

You know that intensive lobbying is the way that every candidate wins every major endorsement, right? I'm not surprised at all that the NYT endorsed Hillary.. considering the platforms of her and Obama are nearly identical, that she's served NY well (at least in the Times' estimation), and that she is from their state are all good reasons to endorse her. She's more likely to address the concerns of New York then he is.

Anyways, that's not what this thread is about. Simply put, a prestegious school endorsing a presidential candidate that was not only an alumnus but was head of their law review is hardly surprising.

harvard..the newspaper editor supports obama😛 big deal. what kind of student do you think works at the school newspaper😛

"Barack Obama will bring intelligence, sound policy, and change to the White House"

lol, crimson indeed, an obama presidency would turn the congress crimson red. what will change? obamas tune as he gets beaten into submission by congress. you think the clintons were hated. obama with his left with credentials will really make peoples blood boil.

No because the colleges in NH were still on winter break.

no, because a vote primary is more democratic than one where you have to stand around for hours in a herd. private secret voting is democratic, cr@p like iowa that basically creates low turn out is undemocratic and distorted the results to give obama that victory.

"It's only when you read an honest reporter like Dan Balz that you appreciate the depth and extent of the fraud that is being practiced on us all. "In a primary," as he put it, "voters quietly fill out their ballots and leave. In the caucuses, they are required to come and stay for several hours, and there are no secret ballots. In the presence of friends, neighbors and occasionally strangers, Iowa Democrats vote with their feet, by raising their hands and moving to different parts of the room to signify their support for one candidate or another. ? [F]or Democrats, it is not a one-person, one-vote system. ? Inducements are allowed; bribes are not." One has to love that last sentence."
iowa was a sham.

"so badly"?!?? LOL!!

Obama lost NH by a whopping 2.6%.

How'd Billary end up doing in SC? I'm just wondering... the last numbers I saw had her losing by roughly 27%... as in, twenty-seven percent!... Obama got two votes for every one that Hillary received.

OUCH! that's gotta sting a little, eh?

Obama lost by less than 3 points in NH, by less than 6 points in NV, and both of his wins have been 9 points or more. South Carolina was a rout, no doubt about it.

We'll now sit back and await techs and senseamp's spin and rebuttal. Or maybe they'll pull a Perry404 and disappear.

Harvard is 100% intelligent people. Intelligent people care about things other than how rich they are. It's average or dumb people with rich parents or good connections who are the most concerned with money.

😛 over 29 non black edwards managed to double obamas votes. double. that is hardly winning everyone over at all, it was a racial divide as clear as day. and that is bad considernig that most states aren't black as south carolina. no where near. if it werent for the overwhelming black support it would have been much much closer. and many of those votes probably were siphoned off hilary as edwards is in his home state after all.

the medias already bungled it once by declaring obama king. andfolks like you who jerk off over clinton defeat have been punked before as well.

OrooOroo

Obama won a majority of every demographic except whites over 29 and people over 65.

he won whites 18-29.

He won the male vote
He won the female vote
He won the under 29 vote.
He won the black vote.

Do you honestly think Billary is the person responsible for the record turnout?

No, its Obama.

The Clinton Machine is treading a fine line. If thier race baiting continues the rest of the primary, the black vote will stay home. This Dem nomination isnt going to be won until the last primary is held. Thanks to proportional representation its highly unlikely Hillary will ever break a huge lead over Obama. Whoever gets the dem nomination is going to be extremely damaged by time the General election campaigns start.

 Ron Paul is a much better (and saner) candidate than Badnarik, so I won't feel quite as guilty this election. 😉
