Neither he nor Galper has read Yasin's draft in its entirety.

That about sums it up. These people who are rallying against him have absolutely no idea what they're talking about.
Good luck to him for having the brass to say what needs to be said. I can't wait to see what he has to say.

As usual people tend to overreact and, as usual, it is due to their own ignorance.

Yeah. There are a lot of morons in colleges and universities.
This world would be a much better place if idiots learn how to shut the fsck up when they don't know what they are talking about. So true... idiots who stand in the middle of Red Square and try to hawk their ignorant wares... guh.
Yup. Read through a whole bunch of stuff on general RAID, IDE RAID, SMP, etc. Debating whether to go SMP + SCSI RAID, SMP + IDE RAID or SMP + IDE non-RAID.Another late night?

And just finished writing a philosophical report. This time I related the theories of Adam Smith with software team management or just life in general.

If you ask me to send it, I'll send it.Actually... if you're up to it, I'd love to read it. As a budding economist, I'd like to learn all I can.![]()

I sold my BP6 with dual Celeron 433 for soooo cheap. My most regretful sale.
I've been considered a SCSI RAID5 with 3x 15,000-rpm disks, but I was checking out stuff at this forum, 2CPU.com and StorageReview to see if improvements in disk transfer or access time has any significant advantages for my use. IDE RAID5 on that 3ware RAID card looks pretty nice too. I might just end up going with a single Barracuda initially and upgrade my hard drive as necessary.
Dual 1800+ will be sweet, though.![]()
You still didn't ask.Yeah, sure, send it to me. njp@u.washington.edu... well, the paper, although you can mail the rig to me too, if you wish,.

OK. I'll just send it. I was eventually going to send it any ways.

Rescue: I edited my post above.
It's Friday, I do not have to think again until Monday. I've put the brain away for the weekend and I'm not taking it back out for this. What does everyone think of this?
This statement is a hoot. This is the same Harvard that would not allow the printing of David Horowitz's "10 Reasons Why Reparations for Blacks is a Bad Idea - and Racist Too". I personally have no problem with letting the guy give his address and use the word jihad however he sees fit but the idea that Harvard or any of our top universities encourage the free exchange of ideas given the current climate of speech codes and the like is laughable.Harvard President Lawrence H. Summers defended the selection of Yasin as a speaker.
"We live in times when, understandably, many people at Harvard and beyond are deeply apprehensive about events in the Middle East and possible reverberations in American life," Summers said in a statement. "Yet, especially in a university setting, it is important for people to keep open minds, listen carefully to one another and react to the totality of what each speaker has to say."
