Harry Potter... the new gay icon?

Last I heard, Sponge Bob Squarepants was still the icon of choice among gay men.

I searched for the original article, but the links I came up with might get me banned from here.

thats retarded. I don't even like Harry Potter, but cmon...gay icon? These people need to get out more.

That Michael Bronski guy is a total retard. His abnormality is that he is a wizard, that's the reason. Most mis-interpreted article EVER. I think this guy needs some publicity.

Actually, I thought that from the first time I read the books. The culture of English Private ("public") schools is intensely gay - all that spanking and loving etc; the books take place in one of those schools. And Harry has strange relationships with girls. I know, I know, ALL teenage guys have strange relationships with girls. But?

It doesn't make the books any less fun. I don't have any problems with a gay wizard 🙂 .

I disagree. He is quite clear that he doesn't think JK Rowlings wrote it that way - just that it can be interpreted that way...

yeah, thats half the fun of reading.
but i have found that many sexually confused people i knew in college really love those books. and i dont just mean like to read them...i mean use them in their life as an analog...sort of a weird life-compass.
