AVR145

Entry Level 5.1 Receiver. Don't let the 40 watts/channel fool you, HK rates their receivers more realistically...If an Onkyo or Denon Rates at 75 watts/channel, it's probably more likely to be 40 - 50.

I have this reciever...they sell it at costco for 279.99.

At frys, I saw it on clearance for 160...they had the AVR144 for the same price as well.

If you don't need HDMI or Upconversion, it's a GREAT soudning receiver, excellent quality. HK presents a very Warm, non instrusive feeling...very rich.

YMMV both on price and availability

FRYs is replacing these with 146 model. IL FRYs near me only had one model on display for $170 sold as is. If you can get it at $160 consider yourself super lucky.

 Are you sure you didn't buy an AVR745 for that much?

Read up on Harman Kardon receivers before buying them. There are way too many reports of failure for me to feel comfortable purchasing them.

I own a few HK receivers and have never had an issue with them.

Im not married but the WAF on the HK is probably higher than any other unit.....they are just so damn classy.
