By digital amplification I mean class-D such as equibit (Panasonic SA-XR series, etc), tripath (JVC, Teac, etc.) and S-master (Sony)

Digital amps sitll have a ways to go, they have compatibility problems with 6 and 4 ohm loads and lots of the current digital amps focus on size rather than features and build quality. In a few years I will agree that digital will be the best but by then you may want 13.1 sound anyway.

HK is a good brand, high bandwidth, good sound and features. Not a bad price.
