Harman Kardon AVR 130 (Channel 7 problem)

I own Harman Kardon AVR 130, just before some days a weird problem has arrived. It works fine in 2 channel, but when switching it to 7 channel it gets shut down. I've also did factory reset (Pressing the System Power Control + the Tone Mode) in Standby mode. But it doesn't resolve the issue. 😕

Thanks,
Pratik.

First you want to find out if it's a speaker problem.

Disconnect all the speakers except the one that work in 2 channel mode.

Switch to 7 channels mode and see if it shuts down.

If it does not, you most likely have a speaker or speaker wire problem. Reconnect them one after the other until the amp shuts down again. Once it shuts down again you have identified the defective speaker or wire. Replace or repair as needed.

If it still shuts down after you disconnected the surround speakers, you have a internal problem in the amp.

You can open the amp up, blow the dust out and see if there is any obvious damage inside. Make sure to disconnect the power source.

Let us know how you fare.
