Hardware vs Software routing.

I had ICS running through my Windows 2000 server and just recently switched to a Linksys DSL router. The linksys router actually seems slower than my original setup. Not slower as in bandwidth, but slower to start opening a page. Is there a reason for this? Is it because of the firewall features of the router? I don't really have any of the security options on. Is it just cuz my machine is more powerful than the linksys router?

I haven't notice a difference with my Linksys in or out of the line. Same speed either way. The software way is usually slower, and the more machines you load onto the software version the slower and slower it gets.
