hi all,
i want to get new videocard for my machine, so i would like to get opinions from you guys.
here what i have right now:
p4 with 3.2GHz CPU
Asus P4R800-VM motherboard
1GB RAM
GeForce 5200 256MB
2 HD: 280GB and 80GB
DVD and CD Burners
Windows XP Pro
I use my machine mostly for games and video transcoding, i.e. video conversions and making movies.
any help and/or advice would be appreciated.
the price range $220-$300

If you want my honest opinion I would see your MOBO, CPU, and video card, keep everything else and buy a socket 939 motherboard and get a nice Opteron....maybe a 165 or if you don't want to spend that much then go with a 146. I would also suggest a 6800GS or a x800GTO2, these are just my thoughts.
 
A dualcore AMD + s939 motherboard + ATi X1600 or X1800 for AVIVO (depending on your gaming needs and amount of money you're willing to spend).
