Is there any news on the tabletop DivX players? Last I heard they were still being developed. Anyone know anything about these? No I don't mean the proprietary DivX discs sold at Circuit City a few years ago.... :D

Looking for the link but I know that one company released a DVD player that supports Divx5. It was being sold for like $300

I wonder what the quality is on something like that. I know there is some 3rd party software which works quite well with divx for the Xbox, however I think you need a modchip (which doesnt like xboxlive).

I have a DVD-R. I also have over 150 burned DivXs on CDR. I really don't feel like converting them all over :D

I will prolly just use my TV-OUT on my video card for now. The DivXs look great on my 42" Trinitron TV.

All you have to do is turn the mod chip off before you go on Xbox Live and you will be fine. I will be pissed if people actually get modchips working on XBL because then hacking will be rampant.

build a home theater PC!

Thats what I did and it works wonders. I can get the latest codecs, feed sound directly to my receiver, use it for mp3s, etc. Those little shuttle cases work great or you can look into the cases Antec is offering in March.
