Hardware & Sofware Neeeded to Enable DivX Playback?

What kind of hardware and software is needed to enable DivX on a PC?

you need this codec, from divx.com, and windows media player or some other basic media player. you don't need special hardware other than a computer that's not super ancient.

pretty much it took me getting a p3 600mhz or more to play Divx back in the old day with the older 3.11codec and pretty high bitrates (common these days).....

Now there are cards by both ATI and NVidia that have on card decoding which would help older slower systems free up costly cpu cycles that may be stolen to play high bitrate encodings....

generally most ppl don't have anything that archaic around here...
